Well. Now you already know my embarrassing ones too.
Though speaking of secrets.
I assume by now you know everything of Lahabrea and Emet-Selch. In the interest on not making things too complicated, I think it's time I explicitly told you there are things the rest of Taisho can't find out.
I know, but I thought it'd be best to let you know. It's different for you, since you never met Auracite, so nobody is going to expect you to care.
But I am helping them out, and Auracite is a shard and a member of Taisho. You can imagine how well that would go if the rest of the unit if they were to find out I'm helping others kill him.
I've made a contract with both Emet-Selch and Lahabrea that prevents me from talking about what we've been working on in any capacity - if I try to speak of it with people that are not already included in the contract as exception, I'll be unable to speak for a time.
Given our current situation, I am thinking of making a similar contract with you as well, just in case. I mean. It's likely better than you biting your tongue off and drowing in your blood.
And you'd be correct in guessing it's time travel. ... Though you know. Given your sword's power I wouldn't be surprised if you could really time travel as well. Being able to travel through space is a part of it, after all.
The enforced silence is the negative effect for it. If you start talking about my involvement in their schemes, then you'll be unable to talk for about 48 hours - that should take care of removing most of these truth effects.
[At least it would be more productive than dwelling on the idea that an 8 year old should have saved her and he's useless and weak because he couldn't. And therefore has to become the single most powerful thing in existence to make up for it.]
Hmm... No, I don't think so. That's clearly been effective enough for you so far. If there's anything else you want to keep me silent about, that would be fine too.
I'd say yes just to see your reaction, but I can't lie, so no, it was a joke.
Give me a moment.
[ he always carries pen and paper with him for contract bullshit so he's gonna write it up - it's essentially exactly like the one he has with Lahabrea, if he tries to speak about Five's involvement with the Ascians he won't be able to talk for 24 hours. He will also not be able to WRITE about it and if he tries it will come out as gibberish.
There are exceptions - Lahabrea and Emet, obviously, and Glacies and Wildfire. ]
[Well he's not complaining about it, that makes no difference to him. The rest is all fine too, and seeing as he's never had to have a signature, he hopes just writing "Vergil" is good enough.
At least he's finally learnt how to spell it. Does he have a surname? He doesn't know, probably not.]
Fairly well, actually. I've secured information on how Noah was able to time travel some time back, and we've been experimenting on how to replicate that, as well as how to combine my own powers with those Emet and Lahabrea possess.
To that end, I've been taking lessons from them so that I may better understand how their magic works. And also so that I can hopefully replicate it in my world and use it to save it.
Originally Emet-Selch and I were just using each other for our own ends, actually.
[ getting up from Vergil's bad and just gesturing to follow him to his room ]
And I guess that's a good way to put it. I didn't exactly trust him, but I wanted his knowledge and he kept my interest, so I was willing to let him get away with far more than I would have anyone else.
I suppose somewhere along the way we reached an actual understanding and well, here we are now.
[He will not pass up the opportunity to read those. But he will try to play off just how excited he is about it. Because it's far too much. As passionate as he is about literature, it's knowledge of magic concepts he most wants to consume. And that's hard to come by.]
How sweet. I thought he was a bit of a busybody at first, myself.
[ once they are in his room Vergil will see that it's now actually organized, with books and nodes and journals out of view in favor of
like
a lot of dog toys and supplies. and THE DOG is there too, but he's sleeping on his dog bed.
Five just gestures toward his bed so Vergil can sit on it, and goes to gather his notes before he hands them over to him. There's a lot of arcane symbols, and some additional notes left here and there by Lahabrea and Emet, and of course an entire journal on the basic of the arcane arts that Emet wrote for him a while back. There's also a scheme that seems to aim to theorize how to combine mathematical formulas and arcane arts ]

I can make one to force silence on you if you would rather, though.

Re: Vergil
Time travel, I assume? Had I any such skills to offer, I would do the same, for any of you.
...If you can speak of it, does that mean I'm already an exception?

Re: Vergil
[If he tries to ignore the idea of being able to time travel he won't have to blurt out how badly it makes him want to save his mother, right?]

Is there anything else you'd like to add to it?

Re: Vergil
We could add that thing about you hugging me just earlier, I feel like it'd be apt.
Re: Vergil
[He's kind of amused by that.]

There we go. It only needs your signature.

I have to say it feels nice having actually shared it with you.
Re: Vergil
[That sounds so extreme when he says it...]
And I'm glad you can. How has it been going?

Did you two really just accidentally become such close friends despite yourselves?
[That's cute, Five.]

I do, actually.

[Why does everyone have cute pets, why is he endeared by them, he's a big bad demon man he shouldn't want to pet the dog...!!
He'll let him sleep though and indeed sit on the bed. Someone's moving up in the world, getting organised.

I guess I will have to get better at math... Can I borrow these for a day or two, or should I keep them in here?
