And I guess that's a good way to put it. I didn't exactly trust him, but I wanted his knowledge and he kept my interest, so I was willing to let him get away with far more than I would have anyone else.
I suppose somewhere along the way we reached an actual understanding and well, here we are now.
[He will not pass up the opportunity to read those. But he will try to play off just how excited he is about it. Because it's far too much. As passionate as he is about literature, it's knowledge of magic concepts he most wants to consume. And that's hard to come by.]

You can borrow them. With our abilities I don't need to see them again if I need details, but I do prefer to have them in written form. Just make sure to keep them out of sight.
I can make a list of math texts for you to borrow from the library as well, if you would like them.
Hm. I've done nothing with my life, no purpose as far as I've been able to discern. Besides survival and killing my brother, I suppose. There's nothing I need or want it for. Lahabrea and Emet-Selch have given a few lectures and demonstrations as well and I find it fascinating, although it may only be entertainment.
If I can learn of some new magic concept, I find myself not just eager but desperate to know.
Well. You're a demon, so you likely already have the aptitude. If Emet-Selch and Lahabrea have given you lectures already then I imagine they arrived to the same conclusions.
But your methods may not necessarily be the same as mine, so. Math might be useless to you in the end.
I'd like to see how your powers work properly sometime, however. We can arrange it with the two of them.
Yes, I think I understand how their aether and such work, I draw on my own soul or life force or what ever you want to call it as well.
Math may not be important, but I would still better understand your methods. And I would be glad to show you mine any time. Need to separate parts of a soul?
What I said earlier about time travel. I realize technically it's your sword that cuts through space, but I want to see what you're capable of on your own, as well as using it.
The more information I have, the better. Though it's only for personal curiousity.
Well. Sort of. There is something else I've been wondering about.
Whether we could travel to other worlds on our own. Without the aid of Hell.
I only have half a vague theory formed, so it isn't worth much. But well, given that the multiverse is in fact real, reaching to different timelines and words shouldn't be entirely impossible.
The fact that the production is able to already points out to it being doable.
...Interesting. In my own world the human and demon worlds do seem to be different...dimensions, if you will, that shouldn't be possible to access from one another. But it is with the right abilities, mine among them. I'd be interested to know if that could be applied to others, and whether yours would act the same.
Re: Vergil
Did you two really just accidentally become such close friends despite yourselves?
[That's cute, Five.]
Re: Vergil
I do, actually.

Re: Vergil
[Why does everyone have cute pets, why is he endeared by them, he's a big bad demon man he shouldn't want to pet the dog...!!
He'll let him sleep though and indeed sit on the bed. Someone's moving up in the world, getting organised.
He flips through the notes at first to get a general idea.]
I guess I will have to get better at math... Can I borrow these for a day or two, or should I keep them in here?

Re: Vergil
I'd appreciate that. It looks like I'll need to, in order to make sense of this. Congratulations, you'll have me educated yet.

You'll likely need me to explain most of it, but I did say I would teach you, so. We're getting started.
Out of curiousity. Why are you interested in these notes?

I simply wants to see if my guess is right. About your powers.

Oh good, we'll form a club for strange souls and torment him with it.
What guess?

Though of course there's the potential of ending up somewhere else entirely. But it's worth looking into.
