I ended up being too tired to show you in the end. But at least I gave you the cake.

It's better - or at least I'm not obsessively thinking about it now. Talking with you and Lahabrea does tend to help me be reasonable again.

[He tilts his head up and kisses him.]

Now, we have quite a few more plants to bring in and then digging them spaces besides.

[ He just seems to glow at that kiss, enjoying the affection and acceptance as he always does ]

I'll take care of bringing them in. You start digging.

[He gives a mock Garlean salute and starts heading off in towards the shed. He starts looking for a suitable spot, either on a path or at the curved edge of the garden. He probably bought too many, but they can pot the extra and put it in Five's room or something.]

[ He's taking his time with bringing each of them in since he wants to make sure to do it on his own rather than use the abilities, and most importantly, he wants to be careful with them. It feels like something special and important and he doesn't want to ruin it. The garden is pretty big too so there will probably be enough space ]

A pity that I missed so much of the digging action.

[In the end he probably picked a path. Emet has gotten a bit less than halfway done carving out the spots, but he hasn't planted any of them. He's rolled up his sleeves and is covered in dirt on his knees, arms, and a little in his hair.]

Don't worry. I saved some of the work for you.

[Holding out a shovel for him.]

Oh actually I was thinking more about ogling you while you do all the work. You look very sexy with dirt on you.

[ but despite what he says, he does take the shovel ]

I could change into shorts and sandals for you. Complete with terrible shirt. I do believe I have one stored in your room.

A perfect look to make me swoon with. But no, I wouldn't dare to let you ruin it.

[ He's going to observe Emet's work thus far, and then make sure the spot he's going for is at the perfect distance, not wanting to mess up this step ]

For the record I was studying the material you gave me yesterday, so you've successfully got me off homework in favor of physical work.

[Luckily both of them are quite good at spatial distance so they are evenly spread apart without the need of a ruler. And luckily they are just holes in the ground, Emet saved the actually planting for both of them.]

I was reminded of that particular lesson because Cardinal was asking the difference between Umbral and Astral the other day. Luckily, I don't need to impart the importance of having the basics down to you.

How long have you been studying? A break was probably warranted regardless.

Only a few hours, nothing impressive.

[ a pause, then he adds ]

I suppose you're right, a break was in order.

We'll bask in their shade after we finish then. Perhaps bring something to eat.

[When they are done digging the spots, he'll smear a little dirt on Five's cheek and kiss his nose.]

[ he's so weak to this kind of simple domesticity and it shows with how he can't stop smiling, even when he's trying to look offended ]

Less teasing, more working, my moon and stars.

Though I should ask. How are you feeling, after our talk?

Please. You enjoy every moment of it.

[He kneels with him as they get the first hydrangea bush into place.]

I do worry some of my thoughts are worrying you, and I do wish to stress that while the jealous is new, most of the rest is not. The unfortunate product of the events of my life.

It has taken me a long time to get here, and it will take probably even more time to unravel. So even at times when it seems like progress is not being made, I do assure you it is.

I only worry because I cherish you. As unreasonable and impossible as it is I do wish I could just make you happy, and truly content, in perpetuity.

But that's unrealistic. So I'll make do with being able to make you happy to begin with. And grateful that we can share these moments together.

You are incredibly sappy.

[He kisses him again dirt and all.]

And as much as we scheme and we plot, I do enjoy this quiet moments with you the most. Where everything doesn't feel as heavy or oppressive.

I want your love and your smile forever.

[ Well now he's blushing again, but he's content to kiss him back, and he wraps his arms around him immediately after ]

So long as I have you by my side I think that's going to be easy. I have all the reasons in the world to love you and your presence always makes me smile.

Was this part of your scheming to get my attention?

Today? No. This was planning for the wedding.

Though now that you have mentioned it, I should have taken a picture of your reaction.

[He runs his arms up his sides.]

Come now, we only have a dozen or so more to go and then you can use me as your pillow.

No, I've had enough sleeping. Once we're done with this we're taking a shower and then heading out. I'm taking you to a proper date.

Can you be convinced to stay away from your studies for so long?

[He kisses his cheek again.]

My, I must be special.

[He chides as he finally pulls back and resumes planting.]

You are. I wouldn't stay away from my studies for that long, for anyone else. Lahabrea maybe, but he would rather be studying as well, so it doesn't matter.

[ He'll be focusing on planting as well - occasionally taking a few breaks to bring them both water, but mostly actually working and focusing on the task at hand. It does seem to relax him as well - it's one of those hobbies he hadn't tried when he was trying to find other things he liked, but it's clear he enjoys it and nurturing life like this just soothes him. This wasn't possible for him in the apocalypse so getting the chance to do it here is pretty nice. ]

There we go. I do believe that's all for the time being. Unless you bought more?

[He's a good helper for most of it. Though sometimes he will pause to lean on a shovel and just watch him work.]

I do think you are on to something. You are quite tantalizing covered in dirt from physical labor.

[That and he does enjoy seeing Five relaxed and content. He'll put the tools back in the shed and drag them over to their handiwork so he can take a picture before tugging at his hands.]

A shower then. We both reek.

I'd get offended if you didn't just compliment me earlier.

[ it's his turn to spread dirt on Emet's face, though, and to kiss his nose right after. Someone's picking up his bad habits it seems ]

But you are right, so.

[ he'll take his hand again right after, so they can head to Taisho's bathroom ]

[He's charmed, of course he is, as a genuine smile spreads across his face.]

Now who is the one who is teasing?

[He'll only release his hand once they get there, striping out of his clothes and into the shower. He will offer to wash his back and hair for him only letting his hands wander a few times.]

[ He doesn't at all seem to mind Emet's hands wandering, occasionally arching his back into his touch or bringing his lips to his neck and jaw for a few quick kisses. He's quite clearly in a very good mood and playing around with Emet always feels nice, even when they're just cleaning each other out.

He will of course also offer to wash his back, though he can't really take care of his hair if they're not using a bath. When they're done, he'll insist on being the one to step out first and get them their towels ]
