Description:
The Hargreeves siblings have received an invitation by their father for "a light supper", and Five is headed for the meeting alone. It is clear he's not expecting his siblings to show up, and it's just as clear that he's nervous and on edge. But before the door of the elevator can close, Diego shows up. And then all of his siblings do as well - which clearly pleases him.
At least until Luther farts in the elevator.
Once they are at the right floor Five tries to take the lead and immediately designate himself as the speaker for the group, but he's challenged right away by Diego, who has questions for him. Vanya proposes a system to allow everyone to speak via a conch shell that everyone take turns holding, and Five tries to explain they don't have time for a debate.
And there comes the second challenge by Allison - who grabs the conch and says she's the better public speaker anyway. Diego mocks her, and she calls him Number Two, to which he objects and says "no more numbers, we're team zero now". When Luther points out he doesn't have the conch, he grabs it and smashes it.
And shortly after comes Reginald.
The atmosphere in the room shifts immediately and everyone is clearly on edge and intimidated - which doesn't get any better when Reginald actually starts to talk and essentially asks who the hell they are. For all their talking earlier, everyone falls silent - until it's Five who takes the initiative and explains that they're his children from the future.
When Reginald questions why he would adopt them, the siblings explain they have super-powers. He demands they display them, but the idea doesn't seem welcomed, so Diego takes matters into his hands and throws a knife - changing its trajectory to show his powers. But Reginald takes notes, which unsurprisingly piques everyone's curiosity given that it isn't different from what used to happen when they were training under him, and when questioned about them he says "you are zero for two, young man" to Diego, which pisses him off immediately (since no more numbers, and he's number two). He tries to attack him, but Five intervenes and blinks in front of him to stop him - which provides Reginald another show of powers.
At that point Five takes care of introducing everyone's powers, Allison provides another demonstration when Diego provokes her and makes him punch his face, and Reginald eventually asks about Vanya. When everyone protests to her giving a show she says "I can handle it", and inevitably makes all siblings panic. Fortunately the worst that happens is a bunch of blown up fruit.
Less fortunately Diego decides to confront Reginald about his theory that he's about to kill the president, which backfires and gives Reginald the opportunity to be Father of The Year, demeaning and insulting him and hitting each of Diego's weaknesses. It is effective not only in getting Diego to cry but to make everyone fall silent and inevitably relive their childhood.
And that's when Klaus decides to do something weird that nobody quite understands but ends up being worrying, embarrassing and disturbing all at once. Reginald is about to leave at that point but Luther decides he's not going to be outdone in the embarrassing factor, slams his fists at the table to catch his attention and rips off his shirt to show Reginald what he's done to his body.
It at least gets him to ask Five for a word in private, and after a moment of surprise, he follows him.
