[ he smiles at the attempt, and doesn't call him out on him since he knows, he needs this too ]

[He nestles his head further against his chest as he tightens his arms around him.]

And tomorrow dawns a new day to mend the bonds with Elidibus. And with all things worth having, it will take care and nurturing. And by Zodiark, it is going to take honesty --- how insufferable.

I'm quite sure you are hopelessly in love with me because of the scheming and lying. Well, perhaps less of the latter.

And I am not giving up on this chance. I have Lahabrea and Elidibus to carry out our goals. Yourself and Vergil to give us mastery of space and time. And more importantly, the hope to carry us through where we could not before.

Though even in the end if the Production does not honor its bargains, I would not consider the time wasted. I always knew clinging onto my 'old self' would be useful in the end, even if I could not see it back then.

I'm helplessly in love with you because of the scheming and lying and because of the care and nurturing. I can enjoy them both.

And whether the production honors their bargains or not, I do feel like we have far more options than we both had when we arrived, so. You're right. The time wasn't wasted.

[He can't help but be amused, a rumbling sound hitting his throat but not releasing.]

And ever was cooperation more powerful than standing alone. This I have always believed even if I do not always put it into practice.

Well. I can't say I have always believed it but it's true that I've been proven wrong time and time again. Between my efforts with my siblings and my time here I can't deny the efficiency.

The undeniable proof that you love me. Stating you were proven wrong. Not that your approach doesn't have its charm even if it isn't as effective.

[He pauses and thinks for a moment.]

[ there's a pause at the question, and eventually he sighs ]

Against all logical thinking, I do. He's an asshole and he was never fit to have children. But as I grow older I understand him more, and I regret that I wasn't able to understand him when I was younger.

That is part of why I want to get him out of here after all. That and then rubbing it to his face that he had to be saved by me.

I imagine I will always carry around some amount of guilt around Elidibus, but I won't let it sully the potential. It would be an insult to the chance given.

I know, but even as an adult I have been acting somewhat childeshly when it comes to him. Not that I don't think he doesn't deserve it.

That said. You're right, you'll probably always feel guilty. But don't be too harsh on yourself, and remember that what you did, you did out of love for him. Explain it to him as well. He will forgive you.

I will explain it to him with as much honest as I can manage. As for the forgiveness, we will have to see.

To think, would I not have met you and others here I would probably simply hide from him. Ducking behind corners until one of these games dumped me in a room with him. Forced to speak our inner thoughts.

You can consider it your own punishment for pushing us to be honest with our feelings too.

[ he leans in to kiss him, soft and gentle before he pulls back ]

It will be all right. Especially becuase you're not alone anymore.

I was being nice to him because you had requested I should. How long would it have taken to realize otherwise.

But in case it is in question, I am comforted. Greatly so. Perhaps there is merit to leaning on others.

Considering you're marrying me I would be very offended if you hadn't been leaning on me. Which does remind me. I guess we'll have one more guest to invite now.

Perhaps I will spring that on him later to lighten the mood. I imagine it will be quite serious for a time.
