Well. I'd already planned on making sure to observe how things would go in your world.
[ It makes sense, and it's a fairly logical way to look at it. Emet and Lahabrea are both tempered, and he's not. He has a far higher chance to be able to intervene when necessary than either of them do ]
Very well. If I'm right regarding my body no longer aging, then that makes things significantly easier.
You and Hades come with me, we save my world and take care of the commission, and wait until my family is no longer with me.
But if I'm wrong, we either need to find a way to alter or discard my body altogether, or saving your world will need to be done within my lifetime.
Neither my hair nor my nails have grown at all since I've gotten here. I'm about 90% certain my body is stuck like this, I'm waiting until I can test it properly, or I remember doing so.
But that alone points toward it being true.
Not that I would mind being able to discard this flesh for something older.
[ he's giving it some thought, and eventually he shakes his head ]
Not yet.
There's a chance it would make the way I feel in my current body worse. I'm never exactly comfortable in it, and I imagine discarding and getting a new body at will, even if in a dream, would make me feel even more like an outsider in it once I wake up.
It is better if we could find a way to age your body without ending its potential immortality in the first place. I do think that would not be impossible. Simply analyze what has frozen the state of your cells, be sure you can recreate it, and undo it until your body reaches the age you prefer, then reapply it.
In theory anyway, it would not even be hard. Especially if we had more of Amaurot's resources. Or perhaps even your commission's.
I think I know which part of the formula I used might have caused it, but time traveling again just to replicate it doesn't sound ideal either, especially when I cannot predict the end results, or where I'll end up.
Using the Commission or Amaurot's better.
... Admittedly, it does make me feel better about it. Knowing there might be a solution later down the line.
Truly you know what to say to make a man like you more.
[He runs his hand over his face and breathes in deeply. He's still basically losing it but talking to Five is helping. Thinking of ways to handle things is helping, even if they have no concrete solution, just trying is engaging him on productive solutions and not on [billions of years of regrets].]
I suppose we shall have to make an office for temporal and spacial studies.
Ah.... I wonder how you do manage it. I had wondered by Hades was so weak to you, likely willing to give in if you but made a demand, and here I am in the exact same boat.
And I know you're in no condition to truly put your mind to use, but since you're not resting either and this might be a good enough distraction, I can write down for you my current guess on the formula that I could use to travel through worlds.
It isn't nearly done enough yet, but it's something.
[ once he's done with the calculations, he'll hand them to Lahabrea. Imagine it's also full of extremely complicated notes that theorize what should be taken into account and all that stuff ]
But the good news is that spatial jumps are much easier than time traveling.

I would hope that is not necessary, though so let us... Wait to see.

Re: Day 272 early
But I can teach you in dreams, if only to prepare for the worst case.

[He has honestly been thinking about it since their last talk on the subject when he changed his own body.]
Re: Day 272 early
Still.
... Thank you.
Re: Day 272 early
Re: Day 272 early
If we manage save my family and the world, and take care of the commission, I'm pretty sure you won't owe me anything.
Not to mention everything you've already done for me.
Re: Day 272 early
Well, I wouldn't like you so much if you were not so charming, I suppose.
Re: Day 272 early
Which is exactly my plan once I move.

Re: Day 272 early
Good. I'd demand it otherwise.
Re: Day 272 early
I do wonder who will save us from you?
Re: Day 272 early
Well. At this point, probably no one.
Re: Day 272 early
I might as well get resigned to our fate.
Re: Day 272 early
That's correct.

Thank you.

Re: Day 272 early
Re: Day 272 early
There are a few unknown factors still, and I think I'd need a beacon I could refer to in order to calculate the distance I need to travel.
But the fact I'm even able to start on it does point to it being possible.
Re: Day 272 early
It's possibly by mundane means, I see no reason why not so mundane ones. The issue really is making sure you arrive at the correct destination.
Re: Day 272 early
I'd rather avoid scattering myself into the void.
